Thank you for your post, and for your candor.  I agree, social networking takes effort.  But I did hear a wonderful story tonight, about a family friend who has been out of work for over two years now.  And just when the economy is sinking even lower, he&#039;s being seriously considered, for a great job.  The company found him through LinkedIn!

We&#039;re wishing him the very best of luck (and keeping our fingers crossed.)

But if not for LinkedIn.... and all those other social networks out there right now, which have become, for better or worse, our  lifelines---so yes remember the virtual handshakes!
